hrj is a radiophonic project dedicated to exploring the power of art as a tool for healing, resistance, and self-expression. It’s a hybrid format that blends conversations with a dynamic DJ set, creating a fluid experience where ideas and music intersect. Through intimate dialogues, we discuss how creative forms challenge norms and encourage resilience.
Born and raised in Brazil, HAUSVRAU is Trans non-binary artist, curator and activist with a varied background and a desire to connect. Intertwined with over ten years of a dance career and experience as a painter, HAUSVRAU also manifests herself as a DJ, musician, drag performer, host, model and dance/performance coach. From 2019 to 2023, she co-organized in Zürich a rave label called FAGDOM, focused on the socio-political issues of queer migrant communities in Switzerland, where she also started her career as a host and night club performer. Her experience with producing events also propelled her to become a very prominent member of the ballroom scene in Switzerland, being the Swiss Godmother of the House of Laveaux and a member of the House of Saint Laurent. In 2021, she co-founded the Trans Safety Emergency Fund, an institution focused on supporting Trans people financially across the globe, and continues to work with the institution as a volunteer. Parallel to that, she is a resident DJ and curator of performance at In Transformation, in Bern, Switzerland, and a master student of the Contemporary Arts Practice program at the Bern University of Arts. HAUSVRAU aims to combine her painting, dance experience and overall theater kid energy with her creative compositional process involving DJing, soundscapes, drag, text, performance, live vocals and installations, making sure that they always carry a political message of liberation for the communities she represents.
