»How big is this forest?« In »Barkskins« by Annie Proulx, a newly arrived settler marvels at the hugeous trees of New France. A few generations later, the trees are gone, and with them, entire cultures and worlds have been violently eradicated. This episode heads to the woods to trace the »clearings« of Racial Capitalism. At the same time, it tries to attune to resistant stories and frequencies that may lead us »out of the clear.« Featuring excerpts from talks by Leanne Betasamosake Simpson and Erin Manning.
