msobaby is an artist, designer, DJ and curator of congolese descent, whose work delves into the exploration of narratives, boundaries, and spaces in regards to their black queer experience.

Based near Geneva, their practice is rooted in a deep engagement with memory. Their focus lies in documenting, archiving, and transcribing moments to craft memorable experiences, their interest in somatic healing and release. As a curator and producer, they aim to transform these fragments into spaces of reflection and connection for people of similar experience.

While engaging with activism and questions of representation, as a black non-binary lesbian Imsobaby’s work explores the visuality of afrofuturism, soft and hard boundaries, as well as the dialogues and expressions that transcend the boundaries of language. Their multidisciplinary approach mobilizes the senses to create immersive pidginized conversations that resonate beyond the spoken word. As a referene to their cultural background they explore explicit and tacit call and responses dynamics.

They are passionate about connecting deeply with their community as such they co-founded ‘Kau.ri, one of Geneva’s first afrodescendent Trans-Nonbinary led space, they’ve collaborated with Jabane in brussels, zagaza locally. They have supported the production of dramaturgic work at Tanzshaus with script and sonic development. Participated to local cultural events as producer such as Antigel, artist for La Bâtie.
