“Fribourg, Switzerland. Back in the old days, in the historical center, everyone used to heat with wood. According to urban legend, the Rababou (from the Fribourg patois) was a wood thief. But there was very little firewood in the area. The legend tells that the Rababou went to steal wood from the forests of the Gottéron Valley, which belonged to the rich of the high society.

Rababoo is inspired by the creature that represents all vices and bad habits of the town. Every year at Carnival, we put him on trial and burn him at stake to celebrate the end of winter and request a rich summer (as long as seasons still exist). Rababoo is about the tradition to celebrate, it is a ritual to reflect the good and the bad. Rababoo is about an acceptance of all kinds of musical backgrounds driven by the same passion for music sharing. Rababoo accelerates the collapse for a better rebuilding.”
