Smuda is a Berlin and Zurich-based DJ whose energetic sets blend techno with hardgroove, industrial percussion, acid, and breakbeats. Known for mixing deep basslines with lyrics and self-made remixes of older tracks, Smuda’s performances are uplifting, rhythmic journeys designed to keep dance floors moving while always surprising listeners with fresh twists. Their musical journey began at the age of four with classical violin training, which shaped a keen understanding of rhythm, melody, and the subtle flow of energy in music. Currently, Smuda is diving into music production, with drum machines and hardware elements. Smuda’s DJ sets are carefully curated to feature as many Flinta produced tracks as possible, with a focus on energetic grooves and catchy vocal layers. They played at renowned venues such as Tresor Berlin and HÖR. While based in New Zealand, Smuda co-founded FLINTA TO THE FRONT, a workshop and open decks series alongside the monthly radio show “FLINTA Tunes” on Mouthfull Radio. They also co-founded PUR Collective, an underground techno movement hosting intimate raves in Wellington for up to 400 people. Now back in Europe, Smuda is part of the Zurich-based intersectional feminist collective F96, working on projects centered around community-driven music culture. With their collective FTTF, they started a new queer clubnight “Spicy” in Zurich and Lucerne shaping underground spaces for the queer community. With the collective they have a residency at Radio Bollwerk.
