Half Notes at the Smoke Floor

The Half Notes collective shares enthusiasm for combining jazz - in the spirit of its long forgotten form in club culture - with the modern approach of self expression and transcendental experience through electronic music.

All of us are long-time participants in both worlds, be it booking the legends at Festival da Jazz St. Moritz & Moods Zurich, the lifelong pursuit of learning and playing after the great grandmothers and fathers of the music, or be it djing and raving nights and days.

The name of the collective is inspired by the 1965 Wes Montgomery & Wynton Kelly album, Smoking at the Half Note, a recorded live gig at the infamous Half Note Club in NYC.
