DISCO SUCKS... but what's next?
On July 12th, 1979, a Disco Demolition night was organized at the Chicago White Sox Baseball stadium where about 50'000 people rushed the field to destroy records. This highly mediatized event triggered a huge backlash against Disco music throughout the US. Ly Sander tells the musical story of how disco fusioned into reggae, no wave, hip hop and r'n'b dance music hybridations in the early 80's New York club scene.
